Since 2003, she has been preparing a catalogue raisonné of Pablo Picasso’s sculptures with a team of researchers.
Diana Ruiz-Picasso has curated major exhibitions, including Picasso and Marie-Thérèse: L’Amour Fou (Gagosian Gallery, New York, 2011), Picasso.Mania (Grand Palais, Paris, 2015), Picasso and Maya: Father and Daughter (Gagosian Gallery, Paris, 2017), Picasso: La Scultura (Galleria Borghese, Rome, 2018–2019), and Maya Ruiz-Picasso, Daughter of Pablo (Musée national Picasso-Paris, 2022).
She is the author of numerous essays and publications on her grandfather, including Picasso: Art Can Only Be Erotic, and she curated the exhibition Desire (Deitch Gallery, Miami Basel, 2016). Her book Picasso Sorcier, co-written with anthropologist Philippe Charlier, was published by Gallimard NRF in April 2022.
Diana Ruiz-Picasso is also the Artistic Director and co-founder, alongside Roy Sebag, of Menē, a 24-karat gold jewelry company launched in October 2017 and listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) since 2018.
She is also the founder and patron of the philanthropic program Je tisse Picasso, an arts and cultural education initiative that invites middle-school students to learn traditional tapestry-making techniques by collectively creating a monumental work inspired by her grandfather.
On October 15, 2017, she was awarded the insignia of Chevalier (Knight) of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by former Minister of Culture and Communication Jean-Jacques Aillagon.
In 2022, she was appointed Officier (Officer) of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by Minister of Culture Rima Abdul Malak, and in 2026, she was appointed Chevalier (Knight) of the Ordre national de la Légion d’honneur.
Since 2023, she has been a member of the Picasso Committee alongside her aunt, Paloma Ruiz-Picasso. Established by the artist’s heirs, the Committee is responsible for protecting his moral and intellectual rights. It plays a key role in preserving the integrity of his work and is the sole authority empowered to rule on the attribution of a work to Pablo Picasso.
